where's this item I have ever purchased from whirlpool where's this item I have ever purchased from Whirlpool at Home Depot my refrigerator not been working since day one five times to replace the compressor thermostat defrost controls coils charged it up and they have been back out about the growling noise it's real loud when the compressor kicks on and said that that's normal but for the second time they came out and put more and the compressor it does get cold

The refrigerator, model WRT314TFD. was chosen to fit within our space. We like the glass shelves, but miss the drawer on the second shelf that was handy for daily sandwich supplies. The storage on the door is too small for gallon milk jugs and the center control panel comes down too far on the top shelf limiting storage of tall items. The unit runs considerably more than our previous refrigerator and seems to struggle to maintain the temperature, even on setting number 3. Further, Whirlpool customer service personnel lack training and wait times are lengthy. The online Whirlpool site claims a 15 day return policy; however, after two days our return was refused. We would not purchase any refrigerator online again and prefer another manufacturer with better customer service.

It's a new refrigerator and thus works fine for now. But some of the parts are a bit "cheezy" - like the bottom vegetable drawers, which are a little "loosey goosey" and not tightly fitting. And the shelves in the door seem somewhat poorly placed. Can accommodate "taller" items at the bottom and REALLY small items at the top, but no place to store medium-sized items in the door at all. Feels like a lot of "wasted space" in the door that could have handled this issue.

Replaced a 37 yr old fridge with this one. While this is smaller inside, I find it to be an excellent buy. Is cooling very well. I can't wait to see how this effects my power bill. Has to be lots more efficient than my old one.

Our refrigerator auto defrost and starting capacitors stopped working in our refrigerator so we had to buy another one! We tried replacing the starting capacitor however the cost of the part was outrageous. So ended up buying a new refrigerator!

I bought this (WRT314TFDW) in August of 2024 to replace a 33 year-old Gibson that was starting to give up the ghost; I needed something to fit in a small kitchen and this was about the only option out there size-wise. I ended up having to have three different units of this same model delivered from Lowes, as the first two I let the delivery people re-hand the compartment doors: big mistake. The doors would not seal properly and the units would run way too much. On the third try, I decided I could do a better job at re-handing the doors myself and voila! sure enough, the doors seal almost too tightly now but much better than before! I gotta say though, this fridge has a personality: it makes a lot of unusual noises on and off. Most of the time, it works quietly in the background like it should, then for some reason it sounds like a jet readying for takeoff, sometimes sounds like it™™s making popcorn and other times it sounds like a rock tumbler going at it; guess that™™s the scroll compressor they use nowadays. It pops creaks and whirs! After over a year™™s use, I must say it™™s been a pretty good purchase (knock on wood) considering I got it on sale and it uses less electricity than the old one. Bought the three-year warranty for some assurance too; we™™ll see how that works out.

I purchased this refrigerator on December 30, 2025. I hated to let go of my old refrigerator which was also a Whirlpool. When the old fridge started to give me problems I checked to see how old it was and that refrigerator was 32 years old. I always felt it worked better than some of the newer models that I had experienced in the past. Now, the model recently purchased is similar to the old refrigerator but just smaller, so I am hoping for the same performance. However, I have noticed temperature fluctuations with the freezer even when it is on the maximum setting. The refrigerator does not come with an internal thermostat but because of the issues with the old fridge I purchased a freestanding thermostat. I believe the freezer should be at 0 degrees but it seems to go between 0 and 12 degrees. I usually check the temperature when I get home from work because the freezer would not have been opened for at least 12 hours but it still can be more than zero degrees! Not sure if these fluctuations are normal. I really don't want to have to replace the refrigerator AGAIN! The other issue with this refrigerator is cosmetic in nature. The first refrigerator that was delivered had a large hole in the freezer door on the inner part near the bottom near the hinge. When the replacement was delivered it also had a hole in the same area just not as big as the first fridge. It also had a dent on the left side of the inner part of the freezer. I asked the Lowe's employee if it would affect the performance and he said no. So, I decided to keep the refrigerator because I did not want to take another day off work to have yet another one delivered. When looking at the images on Lowe's website for the refrigerator I purchased it looked like a deli drawer was supposed to be included so I went to the store to check the floor model and compare notes. Well, guess what I discovered the floor model had an even larger hole in the same spot in the freezer. In that moment I learn not to purchase appliance offline sight unseen! Wish this fridge came with a deli drawer since you don't have three large shelves on the refrigerator door.

Purchased on December13, 2025 and my wife and I are not very satisfied with the refrigerator. The door has one less shelf than our od refrigerator which eliminates storage space, which we really miss. In addition, we have been keeping the temperature un the refrigerator at the setting recommended setting recommended in the owner's manual and it some of the food is freezing. We have lowered the setting and are monitoring and adjusting the temperature, but some food still freezes. Finally, when the refrigerator was delivered, it appears smaller than it did in the store, and it is too small to completely meet our needs. we were away when the refrigerator was delivered and Lowes policy requires a return within 48 hours, a time frame we could not meet.

Garbage! Light switch fell apart for no reason! No front grill plate even though I was promised it would be here by Nov 4th. Makes a whirling sound. This unit is 2 months old.
Our last whirlpool refidgerator was 20+ years old never an issue.

My old fridge died, so I put my food in a laundry basket and put it in my north room, which is like a patio, with screen windows, and the 25 degree temperature kept my food cool. Went to Lowes, and bought this Whirlpool refrigerator. And, so far, it's been good.

Bought from local Lowes. Took a month to be delivered. Delivery people dropped it off, plugged it in, and left. Said don't put anything in for 24 hours. Next day put in a frozen turkey to defrost in the refrigerator and a couple other frozen items in the freezer. Felt cool at the time. Two days later checked and found it warm. All items thawed. Temp in the freezer hovered between 40-50 degrees. Past Lowes arbitrary return window so arranged for warranty service. Now, must wait another month for parts to be shipped in. UNSAT.

It cost $600 and when I bought it online at Lowes.com it was delivered the next day. I own several rental properties and so far while the Whirlpool appliances may cost approximately $100 more so far they have been worth it.

doesn't freeze ice cream hard. want to change door from left to right opening, unable to get plastic plugs out, seem to be glued in. got 1 out of three plugs out on top hinge without breaking. came with a couple extra plugs but not enough. need complete set of new plugs for both doors.

This refrigerator was purchased for an office refrigerator. It has modern features and a clean modern appearance. The size is perfect for the office staff to keep their lunches and daily beverages/supplies cool. The refrigerator is mostly silent and does not add any significant background noise. I would recommend this item.

I was limited on the size of the refrigerator due to the amount of space there is to bring it in.
I had to settled for a smaller refrigerator. It does not have the same features like a drawer below the top shelf. It is small and I personally was much happier with the 18-cu ft Whirlpool refrigerator that I bought 35 years ago. Unfortunately, we had to lay it to rest. It would be great if Whirlpool would consider manufacturing refrigerators with the same dimensions as they did years ago so that people like me who live in homes with limited entry space could purchase what they really need and would like.
