Unhappy purchaser of KitchenA products.

The microwave was installed on December 20, 2024. On January 12th, while baking a bread in the microwave I have received the Error Code F6E8. The microwave as of today, January 23rd has been unfunctional, and because the part could not be expediated to my home, I do not have a planned installation till February 4th. On top of this, my brand new oven was shipped with a broken glass, and as of today it has not been fixed. And no idea when our local appliance dealer will get the correct part in. I feel my local appliance dealer has let me down with the entire purchase of the KitchenAid line, and they have handled the entire sale poorly.

Internal electrical problems

We bought all new appliances and the microwave did not work for 6 weeks. It was installed and had internal electrical problems. Replacement parts were ordered and we waited several weeks for the parts to show up and be installed. Once the new parts were installed, another problem was found rendering the microwave still inoperable. We were paying interest on appliances that did not work. I finally demanded a new microwave and fortunately it worked. Needless to say, being without a microwave, and paying for one we didn™€™t have was extremely disappointing. The store we purchased from was not very helpful at all, which only made it worse. Not a good experience.

This is my 5th microwave I've owned over my lifetime. This is by far the weakest unit I've experienced. Basic stuff, like popping popcorn, it doesn't do well. What used to take 3 minutes, now takes 10! Heating food works, but just takes more time than usual. Techs just don't know what to do, and company does not support them. So, I would recommend using another brand.

Great addition to our kitchen. Works well, so far, with no issues. I would have rated it as 5 stars, but the low wattage light makes it hard to see the food being cooked when the door is closed. The convection oven and microwave "Crisper" functions work well, but I would like to have a broiler element only option, like I have on my full-size oven.

I purchased this microwave from The Brick before Black Friday 2021, and yes, I have not received anything until today! And I paid full price！ Your company's productivity is so disappointing. Since June, I called The Brick, they say they contacted kitchen aid, and they didn't get back from kitchen aid, they tell me to call kitchen aid myself , I called kitchen aid, they tell me to call The Brick. What is all this?

We have had our microwave oven with convection cooking installed for about 5 months now. I wasn't sure how I would like an in-island microwave that I have to bend over to open, but I love it! I like how soft and easy it is to press the control buttons, and the easy 1-minute button. I have not tried the convection cooking yet. The only thing we do not like is that the fan keeps blowing after the microwave is done, and even though the timer beeps, our brain doesn't really think it's done. The timer beeps, but because the "fan" or "sound of cooking/heating" continues, we don't really realize it's done, and sometimes come back to our food when it's cool again. It's something we are learning to get over. The design is sleek - I love that I went with black stainless steel. It's super easy to clean. The only part of the design that I was not aware of before purchasing was the red color on each end of the handle. It seems a little strange, but nothing too bad. Overall we are VERY happy with our purchase.

I purchased this microwave in November 2020. It was out of stock, but finally delivered 2 months later and installed. However, it could not be turned on because the interlock was broken. A service company promptly came out (only 4 days!), but the part must be ordered. That was 5 weeks ago. Still no part and I am not able to even turn on the microwave to be able to write a review about my its wonderful features. If you want/need an appliance anytime soon, try another brand. I ordered 4 major appliances in November -three and a half months later - only two were delivered and only one of the four is installed and working.

I have had this microwave convection oven for 5 months and it is one of the best things in my kitchen. I™€™m not a big ™€œmicrowaver™€ but the few things I use one for makes it a necessity and having a dual oven now makes so much more use out of the space used by a microwave. The microwave features in this are top notch...they have a quick start button for everything that I use a microwave for...popcorn, reheat, melt/soften and defrost...nothing out of the ordinary, just everything I need with one touch. The pizzazz is the convection feature...just incredible for cooking a smaller meal and not having to use the range oven. Don™€™t worry about microwave splash with heating grates on top. It snaps out easily to lower and clean (see picture). Great great appliance and so happy I went with this instead of a plain microwave.

Won't pop a small bag of popcorn

We "upgraded" with the builder to this - mainly based on matching the appliances. First problem we found was when I tried to pop a small (100 calorie) bag of popcorn. In every other microwave I have used this small bag will start to burn if you microwave much over a minute. In this microwave after 5 minutes it still isn't popped. It does work fine for other things, but I don't understand this popcorn problem. Second problem we found is how often the door unknowingly has not fully shut and the light is left on. Eventually (within months) the bulb burned out. That is a nightmare unto itself to change the bulb. You have to physically remove the microwave (note how heavy others have mentioned - 2 person job - that it is to lift) to replace the bulb. We did call for service, had I known they're owned by Whirlpool I don't think I would have bought Kitchenaid. They sent a local service guy - he was useless, came back with Whirlpool's bizarre notion that the popcorn had to be sitting on a paper plate or paper bag to pop (yeah, that didn't work either). They never did address the door issue. He just rattled off a Whirlpool file number and said good luck. We are going to be replacing this with another model.

Fan keeps running!

So far I™€™ve only used the microwave; not the convection oven. I think it™€™s weird the fan keeps running after the cook time is finished. No other microwave I™€™ve ever used does this. May have something to do with the convection. Read the entire manual with no explanation provided. Otherwise, everything else checks out ok. Also, it runs at a lower wattage than I™€™m used to. For this reason, I need to use a higher cook power.

We bought the microwave oven along with the convection built-in oven about a month ago. My wife loved the sleek look and all the great features. So much so, two weeks after installation of the microwave and oven, we purchased the matching refrigerator. Even though these items are the same brand, the aren™€™t the same color. Lowe™€™s offered and did reorder us another refrigerator in hopes that it would match better. It didn™€™t! I™€™ve tried to reach out to KitchenAid, to see what could be done, but no success . I rated this review solely on workmanship of the ovens because refrigerator was a big disappointment. Wrong color and also needs to look nicer as it cost a pretty penny. Bottom of refrigerator looks cheaply made as it™€™s only hard plastic. I™€™m attaching a picture so you can see for yourself.

Convection Microwave?Smart Oven

Just installed my new appliances. Had to retro fit due to upgrade from a basic less than builder grade Frigidaire product. I wanted the convection microwave due to standard oven, then found this SMART Oven which is going to be fun to use the attachments when they come in. So far the microwave was easy to install but make sure you have the correct AMP since this is convection when you upgrade. I LOVE the Black Stainless. It also comes with extra attachments such as crisper, convection mat, and baking tray. Slightly pricey but worth it with the added attachments. I cooked cut and bake cookies in less than 15 minutes from turning on the oven. Lightly crisp edges and chewy......great with milk to celebrate the christening of the install.

I've had the KMBP100EBS (black stainless steel) almost a year and it seems like a nice microwave. I say "seems like" because I haven't tried all the fancy features that turn it from a $200 microwave into a $2000 microwave. It works well as a microwave and we use it extensively every day. It's nice to have the convection option when you're cooking big meals and need a 2nd oven. Is it worth $2000? Heck no, unless you are really really good at using the special features. We bought it because it looks nice and we wanted it to match our wall oven, which it does. Service history: within a couple months of purchase the door wasn't shutting correctly and it would interrupt the cooking cycle. You'd end up having to push the door in and hold it closed while you cooked. Not cool. It was under warranty and a local service company made the fix. About 2 months later the problem came back. Service guy changed a different part and said those were the only two parts that could go wrong and so it should be ok. It's been ok since then, about 4 months. Like: looks nice, works well, has lots of bonus features which *might* be useful someday. The only feature I use often is the melt/soften butter option. Dislike: It takes up a chunk of cabinet space but the actual interior cooking space is a bit low and wide. It's hard/nearly impossible to see the food while it cooks because the glass on the door is so dark and textured.

I have a Model KBMC147HSSO which I bought about 8 years ago. The springs in the door broke twice , and it stopped working twice during the 8 years. The door springs broke again last week, and 5 days later the microwave stopped working again. Junk.
